Earth day – April 22, 2022
Earth Day is a worldwide event held on April 22nd to help raise awareness about various environmental concerns. The event began in 1970 when the U.S. Senate passed the resolution “Recognizing the importance of environmental education.” The first Earth Day celebration was held in 1970, organized by Denis Hayes. (This year’s theme is “Protect Our Species,” so expect to see events focused on endangered species protection.)

On June 5th, 2022, the whole world celebrates World Environment Day. The United Nations and every year coordinate the day, thousands of events take place worldwide where people come together to do their small part for the environment and raise awareness about the need for change.
World Environment Day (WED) is an annual event held on June 5 to encourage worldwide awareness of the environment and its effects on health, development, and quality of life. Initially owned by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), WED is now celebrated by over 100 countries around the world. World Environment Day is an opportunity for everyone who can get actively involved in protecting the planet we live on.
